FAQs
Can all tattoos be treated?
Yes, majority of all tattoos can be treated and successfully removed with the laser we operate. Certain pigments are more difficult to eliminate (blue, green, purple) however, what really sets Vanish apart from other tattoo removal clinics is our ability to treat and remove a full spectrum of colors. With time and proper laser treatments, even the most difficult colors respond positively to our treatments.
Does laser tattoo removal hurt?
Pain tolerance differs from person to person. Laser tattoo removal can sting a bit and feels like an elastic band being snapped against your skin. If you were able to receive the tattoo in the first place, you will have no problem getting it removed. In addition, we use the Zimmer Cyro 6 cooling machine to numb the skin and dull the pain prior to any treatment.
How many laser tattoo removal treatments will I need?
This is probably one of the most popular questions we receive at Vanish. The best answer to this question is “it depends.” The total number of treatments needed on your tattoo depends on – its size, color, ink density, skin type and health. During your free consultation, we will discuss and estimate how many treatments will be necessary to remove your tattoo.
How long is an actual treatment?
Tattoo removal treatments are quick and typically only take a few minutes to complete.
How long does it take to heal after getting laser tattoo removal done?
At Vanish, we only use the latest laser technologies which allows for fastest heal time. After a treatment you can expect to have bandages on for about 3 hours and may have swelling or redness for about 24-72 hours after the procedure. The treated area will feel like sunburn.
How do I protect my tattoo between treatments?
To keep your tattoo protected between treatments, keep it dry and out of the sun. Do not place anything over the tattoo and stay away from regular or spray tanning.
How long do I have to wait between treatments?
In the early stages of treatments, we typically start by spacing treatments 4 weeks apart. We then gradually allow for treatments to be spaced 6 weeks apart and sometimes towards the end of treatments we like to allow 8 weeks. We found this to be most efficient in allowing your body’s natural immune system to digest and dispose of the ink.
What kind of laser do you use?
Vanish operates the only 3 true wavelength Q-switched laser currently available in the world, the Quanta Q-Plus C. This laser has the capability to remove all colors, while delivering more power with less adverse side effects. An important characteristic of Quanta’s laser is its square beam distribution which allows the energy of the laser to be evenly distributed in the tissue, resulting in no hot spots and twice the energy to break up your tattoo.
Can minors get treated for tattoo removal?
Yes, with parental consent Vanish can treat customers under 18 years of age.
